Basically, RoadID is just that - an ID designed for runners, cyclists, athletes, and casual wear alike. Each RoadID is made to order with a faceplate providing your emergency contact information such as name, city, emergency contacts, medical alerts, and even motivational sayings. There are two different faceplate options including the standard version that lists all of your information and the online profile faceplate that gives part of your information then has an online profile that can list more in depth information (for a small annual fee). There are also various finish options for the faceplate such as silver, black, and gold tone. Can we please talk about how sleek that black faceplate is?!?!
Since my preferences can change with the wind it seems, it is no surprise that I like to have a few different RoadIDs on hand to fit whatever activity or mood I am in and of course to match my outfits.
You have probably hear the line "How can you tell that someone has ran a marathon? Don't worry, they will tell you", so it is only appropriate that I showcase (or mildly brag) about my marathon status with the 26.2 badge on my RoadID.
Papa J on the other hand wears his RoadID Slim 2 24/7 as a medical alert bracelet. Last year my dad had a few health scares that involved a heart stent and blood thinners, so as a precautionary measure, mom and I got him a new RoadID for Christmas with this information on it along with the medal alert badge. This way if there is ever a medical emergency, it is easily visible and known that dad has those conditions.
With a lot of training plans gearing up, fall racing season coming up, and a lot of outdoor activities ahead of us, now is the perfect time to either gift a RoadID to a new runner, cyclist, hiker, walker, etc in your life, get yourself one, or even update your RoadID information.
