Each spring, Atlanta Track Club hosts the Atlanta Women's 5K. This has been a favorite race on mine (and my friends) the past few years, so of course it made it onto my 2019 schedule.
Atlanta Track Club offered pre-race packet pickup at their office a few days prior to the race which a lot of runners took advantage of. This helped expedite the bib pickup portion of the morning for sure. When we got to the tents, we were greeted by plenty of awesome volunteers with great energy (thank YOU volunteers!).
Our squad always starts together, but then we divide and conquer. I haven't been able to see my girl Julia in what seems like FOREVER and I haven't ran with Amy in ages, so we decided to hang together today for 3.1 miles of fun and laughs.
The course took you through some cute and quaint neighborhoods where some of the residents were outside cheering on runners while enjoying their cup of coffee or walking their dogs on a lovely spring morning. The highlight for us? The little neighborhood library, obviously. When you are running with a librarian, you definitely have to stop and scope out the books mid-race.
