In case you missed out on my recap last year, here is a little video put together by Cigna showing some highlights of last year's meet-up. (Pssst....you might just see a familiar face or two in here)
We each checked in, we were assigned a Disney character to indicate our team/table for today's event. Before we broke up into our teams, we all had to mingle and catch up with each other. While we all chat it up over the interwebs frequently, we don't get to get together as much as we would like so of course selfies and shenanigans were bound to happen. On top of meeting up with old friends, I got to meet some new friends at the same time which is always super awesome. The guests included running bloggers, local family/health bloggers, and the team from Cigna.
...but wait, there's more! It wouldn't be a Disney event without an appearance by two very special guests, right? Mickey and Minnie surprised us by stopping by to join in on the fun!
Food and nutrition is such an important part of running which is a lot of the time not recognized as much as it should be. Food is our body's fuel and when you run, you need good quality fuel to help your body perform well. Just think, if you didn't have gas in your car or didn't put in the proper fuel, what would happen when you left to go to work?
Sleep is something else that adults particularly don't seem to get enough of. I know, we are all busy, but your body needs to rest and repair itself. There are so many benefits to getting your zzz's each night that we never think about. Now, get yourself into bed earlier tonight and start scheduling enough sleep into your workout and training plan just like you would scheduling your long run.
