When Jennifer and I arrived to the race, we checked in to get our bibs and shirts. Well, we were also given our finisher medals. Yes, finisher medals before we even started. Haha! We were both a little mind-blown, but it gave us a little giggle before the race for sure.
The issue of the short course was quickly addressed. The course was properly marked originally, however once the race started, the cones at the top turn around were moved down by police officers after the first loop, so the first 5K was correct, but each loop after that was about 1/3-1/2 mile short resulting in short mileage for the 10K, 15K, and half marathon. The race did help make things right though offering discounts on future races of theirs for those impacted today. Hey, it was a free race and I personally made sure I hit 13.1 miles, so I won't be too mad.
