Disclaimer: I received a complimentary entry to the Four Magical Miles from Gone For a Run in exchange for a review on the event. As always, all thoughts are strictly my own.
It is almost time for 2016 to roll around which means NEW GOALS! Maybe you are looking to run your first 5K or marathon or perhaps you are shooting to get your pace down. Whatever it is, with hard work and dedication, you can do it!
Earlier this year, I took part in the Log Off. Shut Down. Go Run. Virtual 10K and Faster Than Boo Virtual 10K hosted by Gone for a Run. Virtual races are a great way to go get your miles in with a fun little twist. With unpredictable winter weather looming over most of the country right now, it might not always be possible to have a race to motivate you in the winter. Face it though, you can still hit the treadmill to get your training miles in, but you are more likely to get your miles in on a Saturday morning if you know there is some bling waiting for you when you are done, right? Even better is that virtual races allow you to run/walk your race however you want to - indoor or outdoors, trail or pavement, night or day, etc.
After a very successful year of hosting virtual races in 2015, GoneForARun.com will be hosting a new batch of awesome races in 2016. Four Magical Miles is a race fit for a princess (or a prince if you choose)! Y'all know that I love all things involving princesses, sparkles, tiaras, and of course bling, so obviously I was instantly excited about this virtual race!
Four Magical Miles will take place from January 21-24th, so grab some friends, get registered, get your tutu and tiara ready and head out for 4 miles of magic! While costumes are not required, I do strongly suggest adding at least a tiara or tutu to your race attire and having some fun on your run!
While many races offer you yet another t-shirt to add to your shirt collection, Four Magical Miles gives participants magic touch gloves (so you can take those awesome mid-run selfies while keeping your hands warm), dazzling knee socks, real bib, and a gorgeous SPARKLY medal!
While all that magical race swag is great, you will also be helping out Give Kids the World. A percentage of races fees will go to Give Kids which provides children with life-threatening illnesses and their families a week long, cost-free vacations. For more information on Give Kids the World, visit givekidstheworld.org.
After you rock your run, be sure to share your pictures and stories with other runners on Gone For A Run's social media pages! Who will have the most MAGICAL time? Only time will tell!
