The Hot Chocolate 15K/5K draws thousands of runners from the Atlanta area and beyond, so participants must have their packets picked up at an expo prior to race day. I am a total sucker for race expos - they are an awesome place to score some great deals on your favorite fitness products and also find new ones. I decided to meet up with some friends at the expo to make the experience even more fun. As you can tell, we did just that.
I have ran the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K in 2013 (5K) and 2014 (15K) and have absolutely loved my experience. Who doesn't love an epic mash-up of running and chocolate?!?! The Hot Chocolate race series is held in a number of cities across the country and separates itself from other races by rewarding runners with a pretty "sweet" hoodie and a post race party featuring all types of chocolate treats at the finish line. 15K races are a rarity in the Atlanta area, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to run 9.3 through the hills of Atlanta. To make it even better, 15K finishers will now receive a finisher medal and I am a total lover of bling (new addition for 2015). We were able to check out some races that are coming to Atlanta this spring, got some great deals on race gear, and even planked around the expo.
