With a number of half marathons (and possibly even another marathon) that I will be training for this summer and fall along with an insane obstacle course race schedule in October, I will be spending quite some time out on the roads and on my favorite trail at the park this summer.
This is exactly why I when the team at Orange Mud asked me to try out their Gear Vest 2L V2.0, I instantly jumped at the opportunity.
- Light weight (just 8.9oz without bladder)
- 1L (35oz) bladder
- Shoulder pocket storage on both sides for phone, nutrition, and more
- Adjust-ability with multiple adjustment locations on chest and sides
It adjusts well to my body frame, simple to adjust, didn't bounce and held everything that I needed (hydration, fuel, gear and more)! It was so nice knowing that I had everything I needed right on me and was hands-free!
One really important feature was the comfort of the Gear Vest 2L V2.0 - it didn't bounce or chaffe me and the fabric kept it light in both terms of not having a heavy pack and breathability of the fabric (VERY important for those summer runs in Georgia). I sweat enough as is, so the breathability of the fabric is critical because I don't need extra heat being produced.
Finally, the ease of getting a drink was spot on. I didn't have to fumble with a bottle - I just put my bite valve in and BOOM. Yes, I have fallen victim to the dropping of my bottle and have tripped over bottles that others have dropped mid-race, so not having to worry about bottles was so nice!
