Mom and I knew that we were interested in trying out the newest runDisney New Balance shoes. Due to the popularity of the shoes, New Balance utilizes a virtual queue in order to reserve your spot in line and your size (kind of like a fast pass). The first day of the expo, only registered runners may register for the queue (the other days it is open to the public). The queue opened at 6am and fills up quickly so mom and I woke up a bit before 6am and registered for the queue.
As I mentioned in my previous post about expo tips, the lines at runDisney expos start early. The expo was scheduled to open at 10am but we got there shortly before 9am to line up for merchandise. When we arrived, there were two lines: one for official merchandise/expo and one for the coveted Dooney & Bourke purses.
The Princess Half Marathon expo did not disappoint at all. I am lucky and happy that we were there for opening on Thursday as lines for merchandise (and Dooney purses) got very long very quickly and a lot of official merchandise sold out early on in the expo.
