Last year at this time, I knew that my 100th half marathon would be in early 2018 and finding the perfect race to run it at was a top priority for me. I knew that I wanted this race to be my 100th for a variety of reasons including my love of the course, the community, its a hometown race and it is the race that made me fall in love with the half marathon distance originally.
After months of planning, running, and even finding backup races for canceled races, schedule issues, potential injuries, etc, here I am. The weekend of my big 100!
To start off the weekend, Momma K and I volunteered with Atlanta Track Club at the expo. This year our task was distributing race shirts to the participants. This was a crazy fun job because we gave back to our running community, worked with some great folks, and met some amazing people gearing up for race day. You could tell what runners were likely running their first half marathon or marathon tomorrow, so it was fun to share the excitement with them.
I had finally made my way to Georgia Tech! BOOM! I always get so happy when I enter campus!
Seriously though, these boxes ROCKED! Sometimes you get similar boxes at races and the food is just weird. We had a nice selection of snacks to choose from on top of our beverages of water, PowerADE, and Chocolate Milk at the finish line as well. Needless to say that my belly was pretty happy after opening this box!
