When we attended the Road Runner Sports Adventure Run earlier this month, we learned about their upcoming Girls Night Out Event. The event is a special night in the store that allows you to enjoy extra discounts in-store, receive custom shoe and bra fittings, and raffle prizes including Brooks running shoes, Moving Comfort bras, and an entry to a Rock N Roll race. The best part about the event - it is FREE! The event started at 6pm and is conveniently located near my office, so I decided to take advantage of a beautiful afternoon and hit the greenway for a few miles before heading to Ladies Night Out. It has been very rainy in Georgia the past few weeks so I had to take advantage of the gorgeous day! The event was pretty low-key compared to the Adventure Run a few weeks ago, but it was a wonderful atmosphere. When you entered Road Runner Sports, there was a festive vibe in the store with balloons and music pumping. There were tables set up with snacks and drinks along with the Brooks representative. The Brooks representative was very helpful with shoe recommendations. I have been a Brooks Ghost wearer for several years now and love them, however I have had some mild discomfort in the Ghost 7s during my long runs (so I use my 6s for them). He explained some of the differences between the 6s and 7s and also explained some of the specs of the 8s which will launch this summer. While he thinks that I will do better in the 8s due to the different cushion buildup, he had me try on some other Brooks models just for fun (and also to receive raffle tickets). Some of the other events happening included massages and Moving Comfort bra fittings (which earned you raffle tickets as well). While I was getting my massage by the wonderful Randal, they did the raffle drawings for the big prizes - Brooks shoes & Moving Comfort bra and an entry to a Rock N Roll race. I was the lucky winner to receive an entry to a Rock N Roll race! I am already registered for Las Vegas in November, so I have to decide which race I will be running. I am leaning towards Savannah, but we will see. :) Becky and I had a great time at Road Runner Sports' Girls Night Out. It was a great time to be able to talk to Brooks rep, try out some new gear, and of course have fun! I am hoping that they do another Girls Night Out soon, because it was a great evening for sure. Question of the Day: I need help deciding where to use my Rock N Roll race entry - what are your suggestions?
