t was a HUGE success last year, so obviously we had to keep with tradition. Steffany was unable to come out this year, so it was up to me and Briana to host (and a shout out to Andrew for grabbing the donuts for us!). We all had a blast meeting up with each other again, meeting IRL for the first time after knowing each other via interwebs, and even met some new folks who heard that there was a group with free donuts. Hey, the more the merrier!
Jennifer and I decided to run the 5K together as it was basically a warm-up for both of us. I don't think I have actually ran more than a mile along side of Jennifer, so this was something new and fun for me. Hey, it gave us about 30 minutes of time to chat. Hey, we are (unintentionally) dressed alike, we might as well run together, right?
Confession time! You know how I always preach about 'nothing new on race day'? Well, night races are tough in general - mix that in with Vegas and things can get tricky. My brilliant self decided that it would be a good idea to have a milkshake for lunch. Yes, a milkshake about 5 hours before a race. I should have known better, but oh well. You live and learn. Around mile 1.5 I looked at Jennifer and was like "I don't feel so good." Needless to say, the last mile or so was a little slower than the first half as I was dealing with a not-so-happy tummy.
