After about a four hour drive to Savannah, we finally arrived at the Rock n Roll Savannah expo! The drive was pretty uneventful which is always good. We arrived at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center shortly before 4pm. I have heard from past participants and Rock n Roll Marathon Series that Friday afternoons tend to get VERY busy at the expo in Savannah. I was a little apprehensive as to exactly how crowded it would be and what lines would be like. There were a good number of people heading towards the exhibit hall (expo entrance), but nothing too crazy. The first step of the expo was going through and collecting your bib and shirt. There was an area to print your waiver in case you didn't have it with you. Next you proceeded to the bib pickup area where there were sections which were each broken up by bib numbers. The process was crazy quick and I had all three of my race bibs in hand within minutes. Next on deck was T-Shirt pick up. The marathon and half marathon shirts were in one area and 5K and 1 Mile shirts were in another. Both areas had women's cut and unisex cut areas set up with the corresponding sizes as well. If you needed to exchange your shirt size, there was another area set up for this as well. While it was getting a bit crowded at the expo, this still went by really quickly and easily. After collecting your bib and shirt, you could also sign up for runner tracking before heading into the main expo area. While you were able to sign up for runner tracking online about a week before the expo, this is a great opportunity to get your loved ones and cheer squad signed up to track your progress on race day. I had already signed up for runner tracking, so we were able to skip this and move on. Once you collected your packet(s), you next headed through Brooks Official Merchandise area which is one of my favorite areas. The designs on the official merchandise were really great - not only did that really feature Savannah, they also made sure to have gear for the marathon, half marathon, and 5K as well. In addition to the Brooks official race merchandise, Brooks had a station set up where you could get a gait analysis and also register to win giveaways. Yay for free things! Next it was time to head into the main expo area. Here you find various booths from sponsors, running companies, races, and other brands. One thing I am ALWAYS a sucker for at Rock n Roll race expos is the Geico contest to win a free post race massage. I try every single expo and I still have not won, but Momma K has (yes, I am totally bitter). One day I might win, but in the mean time, I will at least take the adorable free tote bag just for trying to win. Another thing I always check out at Rock n Roll expos is the Toyota booth. First, I get a free gift for showing my Toyota car key. Hey, who doesn't like free stuff, right?!?! They always have fun little things you can do there as well like making a 7 second motivational video for runners to see at mile 10 of the course tomorrow. How fun is that?!? There were a number of vendors set up with everything from running apparel and accessories, fuel, and more. I always love checking out these booths! Just remember - no new gear/fuel on race day, so please don't go buy a new brand of socks and rock them for your 13.1 miles or get some new fuel to try at mile 8 tomorrow. If you buy something, save it for your next training run. We stopped by a few booths to check out products and other upcoming races and the one that was definitely booming was the Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon and 5K! Join me in Savannah again on April 8th! Even better, use code FUNRUN on your registration and you will save $10 (valid on half marathon and 5K). My dear friends at Atlanta Track Club were in the house! Whoooop! Membership renewls for 2017 just opened this week and this is one of your final chances to get signed up for the Thanksgiving Day 1/2 Marathon & 5K. Oh, in case you need persuading, check out the bling you get when you run to earn your turkey on November 24th! Who doesn't love bling!?!? If you aren't familiar with the Rock 'n' Roll Heavy Medal program, I highly recommend that you check it out. Basically, you get rewarded with a bonus medal for each extra Rock 'n' Roll 1/2 Marathon or Marathon you complete in the calendar year. From the Double Beat medal for completing two Rock 'n' Roll stop to the Hall of Fame medal for 15+. There are also special medals for completing certain cities combined in the same year. Trust me, there is a TON of bling to earn! Yes, I know that 2016 is quickly coming to an end, but there are still a few Rock 'n' Roll races happening this year. Did you know that the Heavy Medal program continues each year, though? I know, I know, registration for all those races is pricey, right? Well, what if I told you that you can run all of the Rock 'n' Roll races you want to in the year for one low price? BAM! I present to you the Global Tour Pass! That's right, run as much as you want for one price! There is also a Tour Pass 3-Pack which gets you into 3 Rock 'n' Roll races in 2017 for a discounted price. Ready to run for the bling? Get Tour Pass details here. Even though it is was a smaller expo for Rock n Roll races (compared to Las Vegas), the expo was a success for sure. There were some cool vendors, checked out some fun products, bought a few things, and even learned some things. After heading out from the expo, we took the ferry across the river to grab a bite to eat before heading to our hotel and resting up for 13.1 miles in the morning. Want to join in on the Rock 'n' Roll fun? With so many tour stops both in the U.S. as well as international, there are so many options to have a ROCKIN' good time! Use promo code FUNNERRUNNER to save $15 USD off 2016 and select 2017 Rock 'n' Roll Marathons & Half Marathons (some exclusions apply)

The Atlanta Track Club pictures are making me even more excited for my first race post-stress fracture. I may be using the term race loosely, but 5k bling will be mine no matter the speed!
