After the 5K split, the 10K runners were basically "on their own" with runners pretty far and few between since there were only about 70 runners in the 10K. There was another woman that stayed right around me most of the way and we shared encouragement with each other along the way which is always nice.
My goal today was simply to hold a steady and even pace throughout the 6.2 miles. I made it to the 10K turnaround in average pace for me in 10Ks. Thanks to the friend I made along the way, Emmy, I was able to maintain the same pace the entire way with less than 20 seconds variance between the fastest and slowest miles. Coming back from #KneeGate2016 is taking a lot longer than I even thought it would (I know, I am impatient), but taking things easy and smart has been key.
