One very unique part of the weekend is that they offered a yoga class for participants (or anyone who chose to come by) on Sunday morning at Ellis Square. The best part, it was FREE! FREE YOGA?!? Yes, please!
I knew after yesterday's half marathon that I would certainly need this stretch, however due to an injured arm I was unable to participate in one my favorite parts of the weekend. I was happy to be able to go out and spectate and support everyone else though. My hips were still very tight and my legs were just a bit cranky with me. I won't lie, a few of the poses made me tear up slightly, but I knew that I needed to get those muscles stretched out to recover, so I took note of various stretches that I could do later on that did not utilize pressure on my arm. You could tell who in crowd ran yesterday, because they all had the same expressions during poses that really stretched out their hips, quads, and calf.
The Dancing Dogs Yoga staff did an absolutely wonderful job in leading today's class. They provided a well needed (and deserved) stretch, helped you find you breath, and relax for an hour on a beautiful Sunday morning.
I was beyond bummed that I could not participate in Yoga on the Square this year, but I loved getting to watch everyone else benefiting from the session. This is one of my favorite parts of the Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon & 5K weekend, so even though I couldn't participate I knew that I needed to be there and support everyone else.
Thank you Savannah for a wonderful, yet too short, weekend! I cannot wait to come back and visit you again soon! Watch out Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon, I am coming back for you in 2020 <3 See you April 4, 2020!
