StrideBox August 2017

Disclaimer: A HUGE thanks to the team at StrideBox for allowing me to review their subscription box service.  While I did receive a box to review, no other compensation was received.  As always, I keep it real and all thoughts are strictly my own.
Fitness and health products can be very tricky at times to find out what works best for you.  Rather than going and dropping serious cash on products that you quickly find out that you can't stomach or don't work well for you, StrideBox lets you try various products each month before you decide to purchase large quantity packages of new products.

While every product might not be the best fit for you, you can typically find a friend that might want to try it out instead.  The best part about StrideBox
is that it is just $15/month and you can cancel your subscription any time if you find that you aren't enjoying your box.

Each month when I receive my StrideBox, I am honestly like a kid on Christmas morning.  I absolutely cannot wait to rip into my box and see what kind of goodies await me.

One of the cool features of StrideBox is that each box comes with a "Stride Guide" inside.  This guide gives you a breakdown of the products as well as information such as when to use the products in your workout/run and the retail price. To be honest, I typically ignore the "Stride Guide" until I am done unloading the box so I don't ruin the surprise.

It is time to dig into this month's StrideBox and check out the goods!
Bakery on Main - Bunches of Crunches
Fact: I LOVE snacks!  Between work, running, the gym, and trying to have somewhat of a personal life, I am on the go A LOT.  In order to avoid things like vending machines and drive-thru, I try to have healthy snacks with me for when I get a little hangry.  Bunches of Crunches are a gluten free oat clusters loaded with superfoods, such as Chia seeds and Cacao.  I received their dark chocolate sea salt flavor to try out...I mean, YUM!  Chocolate and sea salt in a healthy snack?!?  Sounds like a great mid-day or pre-workout snack to me!

EBoost - POW Pre-Workout - Berry Melon
Even though I spend 4 nights a week at the gym, something that I have never tried are pre-workout enhancers.  A lot of people sweat by their pre-workout and their added benefits to their workout.  POW has CarnoSyn® Beta-alanine (a natural amino acid) which supports your muscle strength, endurance, and delays muscle fatigue to get you the most from your workout.  This pre-workout is gluten-free, soy-free, and free of banned performance enhancers.  Hey, samples like these are the perfect time to try out something new right?

Hungry Buddha - Honey Coconut Chips
More snacks!  This month's StrideBox included a pretty large bag of Hungry Buddha Honey Coconut Chips.  These coconut chips can be enjoyed as a snack by themselves or compliment other snacks such as yogurt.  Hungry Buddha carries a variety of flavors of their coconut chips including chocolate, honey, pumpkin spike and even Sriracha.  I received their Heavenly Honey flavored which seem like a perfect, light, summer snack.

Vital4U - Screamin Energy - Coffee Mocha
Scream Energy Max Hit is a performance energy gel that is made up of a blend of Ginseng, Caffeine and B Vitamins to give you a long lasting boost on the run.
Unlike a lot of runners, I am not a gel girl by any means.  There is something about the texture that gets me and I just can't do it, so I have to resort to alternative means of fuel on my long runs, so this is a sample that I will be passing along to a friend for them to try out.

Zealios - Betwixt - Skin Lubricant
The struggle chaffing is real.  For runners, hikers, and cyclists alike, making sure your skin is protected is a common priority.  There aren't many things worse than that burn of chaffing happening in the middle of a long run...well, maybe a greasy feeling from some other anti-chafe products.  Betwixt is made with all natural, vegan ingredients and is petroleum and paraben-free for long-lasting protection without the greasy feel or staining.

No Sweat - Hat and Visor Liner
Summer in Georgia means LOTS OF HEAT, LOTS OF HUMIDITY, and CRAZY AMOUNTS OF SWEAT!  Hats are a great way to help shield your face from the sun, but lets be real, they can make you sweat even more (at least for me they do).  I am not a big fan of running in hats due to how easily I tend to overheat running, but Momma K is frequently running in hats. The No Sweat Hat Liner that I received this month will be put to good use by her for sure.  These adhesive, disposable hat liners absorb the sweat in your hat and reduces sweat in your eyes, stains from sweat in your hat, and even help prevent acne that occurs due to sweat build up.  Pretty sweet, huh?!?

Gear Well - Endurapouch Fuel Pouch
It seems like when you ask runners about their fuel choices, every has different answers.  Some prefer gels, some chews, and some go with nontraditional fuels.  What if there was an option to be able to carry 3oz of your favorite fuel in a reusable pack?  The EnduraPouch is a reusable pouch that can hold 3oz or approximately three packets of energy gel in it.  No more trying to tear open packets or figuring out what to do with your trash while on the run.  The lid is easy to grip and open when your with numb, tired, or sweaty hands.  Even better?  If you have food sensitivities or just prefer, you can make your own fuel and store it in an easy carry pouch!

One final thing included my StrideBox was a card with a recipe for Cinnamon Chia Seed Almond Butter from Laura at This Runner's Recipes and a runner strength training workout from Running on Happy.  This was definitely a nice little bonus to check out and I cannot wait to try both of these out soon.

As I mentioned earlier, not every sample is going to be something that directly fits your life and likes.  However, I really like the concept behind subscription boxes because you can try new things that you might not have known about before.  StrideBox does a great job providing various products for pre-run, during, and post-run needs.  The products included are definitely geared towards runners and other athletes and are a great fit for you and your fitness goals.
Question of the Day:  Have you ever tried a subscription box?  What kind of products would you like to see in an upcoming StrideBox?
