StrideBox - March 2018

Disclaimer: A HUGE thanks to the team at StrideBox for allowing me to review their subscription box service.  While I did receive a box to review, no other compensation was received.  As always, I keep it real and all thoughts are strictly my own.
Fitness and health products can be very tricky at times to find out what works best for you.  Rather than going and dropping serious cash on products that you quickly find out that you can't stomach or don't work well for you, StrideBox lets you try various products each month before you decide to purchase large quantity packages of new products.

While every product might not be the best fit for you, you can typically find a friend that might want to try it out instead.  The best part about StrideBox
is that it is just $19.95/month and you can cancel your subscription any time if you find that you aren't enjoying your box.

Each month when I receive my StrideBox, I am honestly like a kid on Christmas morning.  I absolutely cannot wait to rip into my box and see what kind of goodies await me.

StrideBox recently started adding an optional StrideBox PLUS add-on each month.  Basically, a few weeks before your next month's box is due to ship, the team at StrideBox shoots out an email with what the next month's PLUS item is and the discounted price to add it to your box.  Adding the StrideBox PLUS item to your box is totally optional, but it is a great chance to checkout some additional brands (or get product you already love at great discounts).

The past few PLUS items have included PRO Compression socks, Orange Mud Transition Wrap, and Momentum Jewelry Wraps.  This month's Stride Box PLUS was Medal Mode Displays.  There were a few different options including a 1-medal and 3-medal option at about 47% off retail price.  I received the 1-medal Medal Mode and I already know the PERFECT medal to display on it...stay tuned.

One of the cool features of StrideBox is that each box comes with a "Stride Guide" inside.  This guide gives you a breakdown of the products as well as information such as when to use the products in your workout/run and the retail price. To be honest, I typically ignore the "Stride Guide" until I am done unloading the box so I don't ruin the surprise.

It is time to dig into this month's StrideBox and check out the goods!
Eat Your Coffee - Energy Bar - Peanut Butter Mocha
Eat Your Coffee caffeinated energy bars are organic, vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO snack bars that are caffeinated with cup full of antioxidant-rich coffee.  Most of us suffer from mid-day slumps where we can use an extra boost and with caffeine and superfoods included, you get a boost and muscle recovery all in one.

I will probably have coffee mugs thrown at me in rage, but I don't like coffee...at all.  I love the smell of coffee grounds, but despise the taste of coffee (or coffee flavored things).  Don't worry though, I have plenty of friends that will be happy to take this off my hands.

Bite Fuel - Protein Cookies - Chocolate Chip
Did someone say COOKIES!??!  Bite Fuel's Power Bites are soft chewy protein cookies that can be a  quick breakfast replacement, pre-workout snack, or a treat. Power Bites have 18g of protein packed in each bag (made with hormone free whey protein) and are non-GMO, low cholestorol and are free of gluten, preservatives and trans fats.

I get to try the chocolate chip flavor from my StrideBox, however the other Bit Fuel flavors sound just as tasty including double chocolate, snicker doodle and my personal favorite, peanut butter.  The at Bite Fuel recommend them as is from the bag or you can spice things up by dunking in milk or even over ice cream on cheat days.  YUM!

Skratch Labs - Sport Hydration - Passion Fruit
Skratch Labs Sport Hydration Drink Mix is an improved version of their Exercise Hydration Mix. - now with 10% more electrolytes.   The light passion fruit taste is enough to give you a crisp flavor without being harsh on your belly.

I have my favorite electrolyte replacement hydration, so I am not too inclined to really switch things up.  Typically when I find electrolyte mixes in my StrideBox I pass them along to friends who might be interested in the product, but the passion fruit flavor does sound pretty awesome for spring and summer...

Cramps Away - Cramp Relief
Getting muscle cramps is the worst!   Cramps Away is something that I have never seen before - I have seen capsules that work in various ways to relieve cramps, but this is a liquid form.  You put the contents of the packet into your mouth and swish in your your mouth for a few seconds then swallow.  Within 60 seconds the cramps should alleviate.

I am quite intrigued by this product and interested in the science behind it.  Hopefully it is a product I don't get to try for a while, but it is good to have on hand.

Vital4U - Vitamin C Drink - Orange Blast
Running and training obviously takes a toll on your body and the last thing you want to interrupt your training is getting sick.  I am always adding supplements such as Vitamin C and ZInc to help boost my immune system.

Vital4U Vitamin C is a ready-to-drink with Vitamin C, Zinc, and B Vitamins in one "shot".  Packaged like a lot of running gels, there is  no mixing, no water bottle, etc needed.

Losak - Waterproof Bag
I feel like I have been running in the rain most of 2018 so far (or spending the night before races doing a "go away rain dance).  Nothing can ruin a amazing run like crossing the finish line only to find that your phone got completely soaked in your pocket or running belt and now you have to hope that it powers back on.  The Losak waterproof pouch in this month's StrideBox will be perfect for those rainy runs as well as those fun in the sun days at the pool or beach this summer!

StrideBox Essentials Follow the Sun-Glasses
Speaking of fun in the sun, the sunny days of spring and summer are right around the corner (hopefully).  Now is the time to get your sunnies ready to protect your eyes from those rays as you enjoy the warmth after a long cold winter.  I was excited to find a pair of new sunglasses in my StrideBox and these are pretty sweet if I may say so.  They are super lightweight and comfortable. Now I wait for those sun filled weekends to get to enjoy them!

One final thing included this month's StrideBox was a card with a recipe for Overnight Protein Oats from Running Brina and a great Ladder Intervals Workout from City Fit Girls.  This was definitely a nice little bonus to check out and I cannot wait to try both of these out soon - that workout looks AMAZING!

As I mentioned earlier, not every sample is going to be something that directly fits your life and likes.  However, I really like the concept behind subscription boxes because you can try new things that you might not have known about before.  StrideBox does a great job providing various products for pre-run, during, and post-run needs.  The products included are definitely geared towards runners and other athletes and are a great fit for you and your fitness goals.

Question of the Day:  Have you ever tried a subscription box?  What kind of products would you like to see in an upcoming StrideBox?
