Long time, no blog. Right? While you might have seen my social media pages still popping up in you feeds (and thank you all for following along), I took a little step back from the world of blogging for the past two months just to let my heart, mind, and soul refresh. Obviously, the past two months have been a whirlwind of feelings, experiences, and most definitely LACK of experiences. I have now been working from home since mid-March. All races have been canceled since March 7th. Vacations and gatherings have been canceled. My vocabulary has grown with terms including "social distancing", "asymptomatic" and "epidemiologist" being words commonly used almost daily. Have I ran out of toilet paper? Nope. Thankfully I am an online shopping ninja and haven't ran out of anything. Due to both local shelter-in-place orders and being a high-risk individual, I have only left the house to run/walk and following all measures that my doctors have recommended. What have my days looked like? Well, here is a little peak... From scenic country roads, to empty greenway trails, beautiful sunsets, and even the treadmill, my runstreak has survived COVID-19. I have found a variety of ways to connect with friends until we can be together again. <3 I joined the masses and have been coloring, playing games, planting strawberries, and building puzzles galore. Salons are closed...well, now they are open in Georgia for about a month now, but I am not partaking still. I have learned to do my own nails and dyed my hair rose gold. My race bling has FINALLY been organized. I hate to admit it, but I had over two years of medals piled up.... The absolute worst event of COVID-19 has been attending a "drive-thru funeral" for one of my best friends in high school's father. He passed away from COVID-19. I have also personally known four other friends that were hospitalized due to COVID-19 but fortunately have fully recovered. I have taken care of myself and my family these past 2+ months, but now I am ready to head back to my little corner of the internet. I have missed you all so much and cannot wait to continue sharing my journey with you all...and with more than a picture and a quirky little caption on Instagram. I have a lot to catch up on, so buckle up friends. It is time to continue this wild ride! Question of the Day: How have you passed time during the pandemic? Have you started any new hobbies?
