All I can think about is the beautiful time that I got to spend with her in February. Even with Alzheimer's, she knew me when she saw me. She might not have remembered my name, but she knew that she knew me. We had an absolutely amazing time together that day and it is something that fills my heart with joy at a time of hurt and sadness.
There are so many great memories that I shared with her over the years (even though I wouldn't let her hold me when I was a baby/toddler). Most importantly, I thank her for giving me my balance of stubbornness and kindness in life.
Momma K, Papa J and I joined thousands of others in Chattanooga that have lost loved ones to Alzheimer's as well as those that currently have a loved one battling the disease, caring for those with Alzheimer's and even some that are battling the disease themselves. Over the past few weeks, the love an support from friends, family, and friends of our family showed your support for Grandma and all of those impacted by Alzheimer's by donating over $1000 to the Alzheimer's Association!
Along the course there were signs out with different facts about Alzheimer's and what the Alzheimer's Association is doing to end Alzheimer's! This is why we are here today. We are here to support the Alzheimer's Association, spread awareness, find a cure, and support one another.
