I knew after yesterday's half marathon that I would certainly need this stretch. My hips were still very tight and my legs were just a bit cranky with me. I won't lie, a few of the poses made me tear up slightly, but I knew that I needed to get those muscles stretched out to recover. You could tell who in crowd ran yesterday, because we all had the same expressions during poses that really stretched out our hips, quads, and calf. I won't even talk about what my balance was like...
Disclaimer: I am a 2018 Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5K ambassador. As part of my role, I have been compensated with a complimentary race entry, other race weekend amenities, and race sponsor products. All opinions are my own. If you have followed along in my Savannah Women's Half Marathon & 5K recaps this week, you already know that it was an absolutely WONDERFUL weekend. The race was top-notch and well organized and the atmosphere was absolutely amazing! All of the little touches that were added to the weekend to make it a great girls weekend or family getaway were evident over an over. One very unique part of the weekend is that they offered a yoga class for participants (or anyone who chose to come by) on Sunday morning at Ellis Square. The best part, it was FREE! FREE YOGA?!? Yes, please! Yoga on the Square started at 9am, so Momma K and I got up, did our mile for our #runstreak, and had a quick bite to eat before heading over to Ellis Square. I met up with fellow race ambassadors Jenn, Meghan, and Amy to go get our yoga on. Yoga on the Square was presented by the Dancing Dogs Yoga staff. We had one lead instructor speaking the prompts for poses and breaths while the another instructor made her way around the class to help correct our form if needed. Despite the cold this morning, about 40 ladies and few men came out to get a much needed stretching and relaxation which was small than last year, but I think the weather had a lot to do with it. The Dancing Dogs Yoga staff did an absolutely wonderful job in leading today's class. We got a well needed (and deserved) stretch, found our breath, and relaxed for an hour on a beautiful (yet chilly) Sunday morning. After a fun filled weekend in Savannah consisting of running, yoga, sightseeing, shopping, and of course EATING, it was time to go home. A HUGE thank you to everyone that made this weekend possible with a special shout out to the ambassador team. You ladies are crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way! Thank you Savannah for a wonderful, yet too short, weekend! I cannot wait to come back and visit you again soon! Watch out Savannah Women's Half Marathon, I am coming back for you in 2019 <3
