Becky and I knew that Animal Kingdom was going to be one of our opportunities to hit a real bathroom along the way. We made a slight hop off course and ran into the restroom near Tusker House (there was no one else in there - score!). As we were coming out of the restroom, a performance started just in front of the door! Needless to say, we both got a chuckle out of our own private race entertainment greeting us.
As you exited Hollywood Studios, you pass the final sweeping point and let me tell you how amazing the 'parade bus' driver was. He was announcing loud for all to hear that they were going to finish! While he might not fully get how impactful his celebratory cheers were, there were many people getting emotional around us. Leading up to race weekend, a lot of runners start to worry about sweeping points (even those uber prepared), so hearing these words mean the world to a lot of runners.
You then take a little journey on the boardwalk while heading to EPCOT. Out of all of the chears along the way, the ones on the boardwalk seem to always mean the most to me. You are so close to finishing something that not many people even dream of doing and to have people smiling and cheering you on means more than I can explain.
Thank you to runDisney, volunteers, first responders, cast members, and of course my family and friends for making this an unforgettable weekend!
