I slept fairly decently, but to be honest, I don't know how prepared that I felt. My hips felt super tight from the drive yesterday. I knew it wouldn't be the easiest 10 miles to run, but I knew that with a conservative pace and playing it smart, that it is totally doable.
Once we arrived, we first headed over to the porto-potties to use those before the lines got too crazy before the race. After that, we killed time by meeting up with friends before heading to the corrals. While I was pretty tired, meeting up with my friends definitely gave me the burst of energy that I needed to get ready to run.
Just as I was coming up to the mile 9 mark, I heard what sounded like Jingle Bells in the distance. Ummmm, Santa? No, it was the awesome team from Back on My Feet getting into the holiday spirit....just a few weeks early. :) They had some really cute signs and props out while cheering on the runners.
