Disclaimer: I received a complimentary entry to the Faster Than Boo 10K from Gone For a Run in exchange for a review on the event. As always, all thoughts are strictly my own. Earlier this summer, Momma K and I took part in the Log Off. Shut Down. Go Run. Virtual 10K hosted by Gone for a Run. Virtual races are a great way to go get your miles in with a fun little twist. It might not be possible to go to a race every weekend - lack of babysitter, no races in the area, etc. Well, virtual races are perfect for your "race free" weekends (or even to tack onto your race weekends for additional mileage)! Even better is that virtual races allow you to run/walk your race however you want to - indoor or outdoors, trail or pavement, night or day, etc. I opted to take advantage of a beautiful afternoon in Georgia to log my miles before spending the evening greeting trick-or-treaters and having Halloween fun. What better way to get into the holiday spirit than with a nice adventure around the neighborhood as families get their last minute preparations and decorations ready for trick-or-treat. I also spotted a few little trick-or-treaters getting ready to head out for the evening. This wasn't my fastest run by any means, but I got it done and got my miles in! Seriously, how stinkin' cute is this shirt and medal!?!?! To make the medal even sweeter, it glows in the dark and it SPINS! Awesome! I am a sucker for great race shirts and bling, so you know this was totally screaming my name to run! To make things even better than earning some sweet bling, over $500 was donated to the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation from the participants of this year's Faster Than Boo 10K! To learn more about Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, go here for more information. Gone For A Run has continued to grow their successful virtual race series and will wrap up the 2015 year with 3 holiday virtual races: Run Now Gobble Later 5K (sold out), Eight Krazy Kilometers 8K (December 6th-14th), and Elf on the Run 5K (December 20-27th). If you want to get in on the fun this holiday season, be sure to register ASAP as these races sell out! Thank you again to the team at Gone For A Run for inviting me to be a part of the Faster Than Boo 10K - I had a "spook-tacular" time! I am definitely looking forward to taking part in future Gone For A Run virtual races!
