I cannot wait to head back "home" and become a Runner of Steel in May!
That is right, it is my birthday! I could tell you all of the crazy details of my birth, but I won't put you through that. Long story short, I was born a "gray lifeless" lump and spent 5 days in the NICUwith a collapsed lung. Thank you to the wonderful NICU team at Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh, I have led a normal life. I always find it interesting that a baby born not breathing is now a long distance runner. My day has started off pretty amazingly with texts, posts, and videos from friends and family wishing me a happy birthday. I came into work this morning to a desk covered in confetti, balloons, and signs thanks to my awesome co-workers. In case you missed it, I will heading back to Pittsburgh in May to run the Pittsburgh 1/2 Marathon and 5K! I am excited for the wonderful opportunity to run through Pittsburgh twice during the weekend. I cannot wait to head back "home" and become a Runner of Steel in May! Question of the day: Have you traveled back to your hometown for a race?
