Despite how much fun there is to have in Las Vegas, I kept focused on my plan to take it easy during the day. However, I didn't want to lay around the hotel all day. We met up with Jennifer and her husband for an early lunch and some football watching which was a lovely way to spend the morning. We were fueled up, semi-rested, and ready to go!
Since we stayed at Excalibur, the start line area was just about across the street from us which was super convenient. Even those not at this corner of the Las Vegas Strip, a short monorail rail ride and walk gets you to the race area pretty quickly.
Even though the race didn't start until 4:30, we headed over to the pre-race area shortly after 2:00. Momma K and I had VIP access, so we were able to hang out, relax, and get ready for the race inside of T-Mobile Arena (hello indoor restrooms!).
To be honest, it was a little chaotic and crowded getting into the corrals as only the blue corral was open and green and yellow runners had nowhere to go so things were at a standstill. We eventually made it into the corral though. You just had to remind yourself that things abruptly changed and Rock n Roll Marathon Series had to do the best that they could to rearrange things in a very short period of time.
We continued our way down Las Vegas Blvd, but don't worry, we will soon be back as the finish line is in front of The Mirage.
