I ran the Shamrock 'n' Roll 5K a few years ago and really enjoyed enjoyed it. The race was very well organized and was a great time. From competitive runners to families to pups, the field is so diverse and fun. Due to traveling and schedule conflicts, it has been a few years since I got to run this race, so I was pumped when I saw that I was able to fit it into my 2016 schedule.
In order to save a little bit of time on race morning, we stopped by packet pick-up at West Stride while we were in the area. It was a super quick process and we got our bibs and swag-bags while we were there.
We got there and got parked in the parking deck with a pretty premium parking spot. As I was eating my pre-race breakfast, I was greeted by a surprise. Becky had come to cheer for us! YAY! After the rough past few days, I could really use time with my friends, so this helped a lot!
If you read my Chattahoochee Road Race 10K recap yesterday, you know that the past few days had been rough. I felt great through the first mile and a half, but then as I got into mile 2 my body was not happy. Thank you to Becky for capturing my true feelings at mile 2.5. Hey, that is what friends are for, right?
