All I can think about is the beautiful time that I got to spend with her in February. Even with Alzheimer's, she knew me when she saw me. She might not have remembered my name, but she knew that she knew me. We had an absolutely amazing time together that day and it is something that fills my heart with joy at a time of hurt and sadness.
There's so many great memories that I shared with her over the years (even though I wouldn't let her hold me when I was a baby/toddler). Most importantly, I thank her for giving me my balance of stubbornness and kindness in life.
Donations can be made here and are greatly appreciate by myself, my family, and all of the others impacted by Alzheimer's.
