A huge shout out to some of our 'crazies' who actually ran two races in a day! A number of our crew members ran what was called #SD2LV where they ran the Silver Strand Half Marathon in San Diego then hoped onto a flight to Las Vegas. We also had some members go from Avengers Half Marathon weekend in Disneyland (running any form of combination of 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon over 3 days) then flying from the finish line to Las Vegas for even more miles of fun!
Regardless of how you rocked your miles over the weekend and even those who cheered us on, everyone was ready to celebrate!
A special thanks to Brian (www.pavementrunner.com) who made sure that we all had the latest and greatest #WeRunSocial gear as well as special edition Las Vegas swag! I know some of you have already spotted the #WeRunSocial version of the PRO Compression BOOM! socks on social media. Don't worry, you can still get a pair on your feet - click here to buy them (pssst - code WRS will save you 40% on these bad boys).
While some people might get apprehensive about the thought of going 550 feet above the Las Vegas Strip, it was a total must do for us! To sweeten up the deal, we each saved $10 off our admission with our Rock 'n' Roll Runner Perks bands.
The High Roller isn't like a regular ferris wheel. You ride in a pod which holds probably 20 people, but we scored our own pod. Each pod has some bench seating or you can wander around the pod at your leisure. There are also VIP pods that you have an open bar and you can even get married at 550 feet.
The journey around the High Roller takes about 30 minutes and offers some of the best views of Las Vegas. I highly recommend adding this to your next trip (if you aren't afraid of heights). Momma K and I both agreed that riding at night is probably the way to go for sure. The price is $10 more after 5:00pm, but I think the $10 extra is worth it to see the strip lit up.
